Our Lady of the Rosary Church Feast and International Day Celebration

Today was a joyous and vibrant day at Our Lady of the Rosary Church as we celebrated both our church feast and International Day. The celebrations began with a 10:30 AM Mass, where parishioners from various countries proudly carried their national flags in a grand procession into the church, symbolizing the unity and diversity of our community. The Mass itself was a beautiful experience, with scripture readings shared in different languages, reflecting the rich cultural backgrounds of our congregation. The homily, delivered by Father Oliver, focused on the sacredness of marriage in the Catholic Church, providing thoughtful insights into this important sacrament.During the sign of peace, a touching moment occurred as all the flag bearers were invited to the altar. Each one exchanged a handshake and was offered a flower, symbolizing peace, unity, and respect for all nations represented. The choir sang beautifully throughout the service. After the Mass, Father Oliver expressed his heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to the day’s success, before we moved to the Social Hall for a banquet. The hall buzzed with excitement as people gathered, chatted, and enjoyed one another’s company, reinforcing the sense of community that makes our parish special. The food was a highlight, with parishioners sharing a wide variety of dishes from their home countries, giving everyone a chance to sample cuisines from around the world. As the feast drew to a close, Father Oliver cut a beautifully decorated cake featuring an image of Our Lady of the Rosary, offering pieces to all present. The festivities continued with lively music and dancing outside the church, with many joining in, adding even more joy to the celebration. The day was a beautiful blend of faith, culture, and togetherness, reminding us all of the importance of community and the joy of celebrating our diversity as one parish family.
